Ernest answers from your own content. This content is a knowledge source.

The types of knowledge source

Ernest accepts five types of knowledge source:

• a web page address
• a Notion page
• a Google document
• a file that you upload
• text that you type

File upload is available on the paid plans only.

Add a knowledge source

1. Click Knowledge.
2. Click Add source.
3. Select the type of source.
4. Type the address of the page, or select the file.
5. Click Add.

Ernest reads the source. This takes some minutes. The status changes to Up to date when Ernest is ready.

Which pages to add

Add the pages that answer the questions of your customers. These pages are usually:

• the delivery page
• the returns page and the refunds page
• the product list
• the frequently asked questions page

Keep the content correct

Ernest answers from your content. If the content is wrong, the answer is wrong. Read your pages before you add them.

The number of sources

Each plan has a limit for the number of knowledge sources:
