Questions worth asking first
- What counts as a conversation?
- One customer, one thread — however many messages it takes. A customer who asks four follow-up questions is one conversation, not four.
- What happens when I hit the free tier's 100?
- The widget stops opening new conversations. Nothing is deleted, and existing threads keep working. The 100 is a lifetime total, not a monthly reset — most free tools give you far less and reset the clock every 15 minutes.
- Do I pay extra for AI, or per resolution?
- No. AI is included at every tier, including Free. There is no per-resolution charge and no per-seat fee.
- Which plans can take actions on orders?
- All of them. Cancellations, returns and refunds work on every tier once you connect Shopify or WooCommerce — and you control which of those Ernest is allowed to do, with refunds always waiting for your approval.
