Plans and limits
Ernest has one free plan and three paid plans.
The free plan
The free plan gives you 100 conversations. This is a total, not a monthly number. The count does not go back to zero each month. The free plan does not stop after a period of time.
The free plan gives you one knowledge source. You do not give a payment card.
The paid plans

The count of conversations goes back to zero each month on the paid plans.
What the paid plans add
The paid plans add these functions:
- a simulation, to test the answers before your customers see them
- a file upload, as a knowledge source
- a change to the colours and the logo of the chat widget
The Growth plan and the Scale plan connect up to three tool servers.
When you reach the limit
Ernest stops new conversations when you reach the limit. Ernest completes a conversation that is open.
To continue, change your plan.
Change your plan
- Click Settings, then Billing.
- Click the plan that you want.
If you installed Ernest from the Shopify App Store, Shopify shows the plans. Shopify adds the cost to your Shopify invoice.
